Results
Through a collaboration with HQSoftware, the customer received a successful Proof of Concept (PoC) of a Virtual Reality prototype designed to transport museum visitors into a detailed VR environment that recreates the time period and place featured in the gallery exhibits.
The solution we provided showed that our client could fully immerse visitors in the culture and lifestyle of the cultural group depicted through an interactive VR simulation, prompting the customer to consider further development of a comprehensive VR tour.
Customer
Based in Europe, the customer is a leading construction company known for its achievements in envisioning spaces devoted to cultural exploration. As part of creating a smart city focused on the latest innovations, the customer plans on building a museum with an immersive VR space as a cutting-edge tech feature.
Through virtual exhibitions, the VR room would transport visitors into a virtual world to experience a people’s artistic achievements and ancient traditions. This innovative approach aims to give audiences a compelling way to discover unique art treasures and deepen their understanding of the culture represented in the collection.
Solution
With the goal of showcasing the community’s identity, the simulation transports visitors directly into realistic environments, making them feel like they’re truly present at the museum. The aim of the PoC is to demonstrate VR possibilities for the museum tour:
- provide visitors with a photorealistic, panoramic view inside the gallery;
- allow visitors to experience exhibits they can’t access physically;
- highlight specific historical pieces and help tell the museum’s stories;
- let museum visitors roam exhibits at their own pace virtually, zooming in on details and discovering additional contextual content.
By giving people a new perspective, the VR tour helps users better understand the art heritage, culture, time periods, etc. represented in the collection.
Beyond entertainment, VR has educational benefits as an intuitive learning tool. The simulation is intended to show a people’s identity through its art and traditions. Hands-on VR activities can teach subjects such as art, science, and history through interactive simulations.
Future plans
Satisfied with the PoC results, the client is envisioning a virtual museum of the future. The VR experience would transport users to a simulated desert landscape typical of the region being depicted.
The customer envisions having visitors appear in the territory, to be greeted by the captivating sight of a young girl dressed in a unique national costume. As they step inside a yurt dwelling, the guests are treated to a glimpse of authentic life in this community, one that showcases traditional dishes, a central hearth emanating warmth, and even a baby adding to the lifelike ambiance. In the distance, traditional round yurts come into view, along with horses that once roamed the territory, and Alabai dogs.
A virtual guide takes on the role of leading visitors through this landscape, offering an immersive experience that unveils facets of life in the past.
