The customer is a 3PL (third-party logistics provider) that offers logistics services, including managing inventory, warehousing, order processing and fulfillment, etc., for retail businesses in Australia.

Need

To reduce time spent on manual handling of marketplaces, such as publishing catalogs and changing product settings, the customer needed a solution for routine task optimization.

So, the company turned to HQSoftware to develop a new module for its existing supply chain software that would automate and simplify the management of multiple marketplaces within a centralized interface.

Solution

To meet the customer’s needs, our software development team designed a functional module that automates publishing catalogs or products on various marketplaces, including Amazon, eBay, MyDeal, and others. The module synchronizes with the customer’s supply chain software to maintain a consistent and accurate display of product parameters such as availability, quantity, and price.

To adjust product parameters manually, workers can use the import/export approach. This allows for exporting catalogs with just a few clicks, modifying them within the module, and then importing them to all required marketplaces. Thus, workers can save time on changing each product card at each platform manually.

Within the module, workers can also configure different product display options for various marketplaces. For example, an employee can set things up to display certain products only before 10 p.m. or configure settings to sell items at one price during the day and a different price in the evening. All of these settings are adjustable and can be easily customized using the intuitive system interface.

Challenges

The main challenge for our team was to integrate the new module with all required marketplaces, due to the unique set of integration requirements for each platform. Additionally, it was necessary to ensure the correct uploading of files with a large number of parameters and enable real-time data synchronization to display relevant data across all systems.

With extensive experience in integrating with third-party systems, implementation of robust data synchronization mechanisms, and thorough testing, our team ensured seamless data exchange between all necessary platforms within a single module.
